The principal achievements of the project included the demonstration of materials compatible embedding procedures, combined temperature and strain measurement in a single fibre with resolutions of approximately 1°C and 50 microns of displacement and distributed dynamic strain sensing with a sensitivity of tens of microstrain over a gauge length of approximately 20cm.
